Anna Seabolt

Anna believes that there is a mathematician inside every person waiting to be emboldened. Confidence-building and strong relationships are at the center of her teaching practice. Errors and mathematical risk-taking are encouraged and she finds discussions about misconceptions far more interesting than perfect papers.

Anna grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned her degrees in Boston, Massachusetts. She has a BS in Mathematics from Northeastern University and a M. Ed from Lesley University in Teaching High School Mathematics. Additionally, she has completed coursework towards a M. Ed in Special Education for Students with Moderate Disabilities. She is currently working toward becoming a National Boards certified teacher.

Anna’s past teaching experiences are diverse. Her first teaching position was in a therapeutic alternative school for students with special needs with an emphasis on mood disorders in Watertown, Massachusetts. When Anna moved to California, she taught at City Arts and Technology High School, an Envision School serving primarily Black and Brown youth in San Francisco. In both settings she engaged in the work to center culturally relevant teaching, mental health care and equity. Her teaching assignments have been a mix of math and science courses, her favorites being Algebra 2 and AP Environmental Science.

Anna is so excited to work with Latitude’s young scholars and help them grow into young adults with confidence in STEM.
