Paul loves serving small schools where staff can develop personal relationships with students and community.
Paul’s passion for public service began with four years in the US Coast Guard as an Electronics Technician. His desire to continue a career of service called him to education. With the assistance of the GI Bill, Paul completed his degree in Math at San Diego State University and received his credential from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education.
Across 7 years at High Tech High, Paul taught Math, Physics, and Chemistry. He then spent 5 years in Oregon teaching middle and high school math.
Paul’s teaching philosophy revolves around meeting students where they are and helping them find their own success. Paul holds an MSEd in educational technology and curriculum design. His thesis work focused on closing the equity gap in educational technology through teacher training and project-based learning.
