Angeles was born in Mexico City, MX and migrated to the United States with her parents at the age of six in hopes of better economic and educational opportunities. Her family settled down in Oakland, CA where she went on to graduate from Oakland Technical High School and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Sonoma State University.
Angeles’s lived experiences as a first generation Latinx-immigrant and woman of color from Oakland; taught her that pursuing higher education and escaping the peripheries of society was no small feat. It takes a dedicated village. She knew it was her purpose to return to her hometown of Oakland and be a resource to fellow marginalized youth of color.
Fall of 2013, she began making her transition into the field of education as the Communications Liaison at Urban Montessori Charter School where she later became the Site Operations Manager for both their Upper and Lower Elementary campuses. In July of 2019, Angeles was ready to make yet another transition and joined the Latitude team where she hopes to be an integral part of the student’s and staff’s future successes!
